Who are we?
Spell Bound is a family owned business and after much research we discovered an extensive interest
in role-playing games in the area. So we decided to open a store for gamer's
to indulge in their hobbies and to bring together people with the same interests.
We came up with the name, inspired by the spells in collectible card games, and Joel, who has been playing Magic: The Gathering for more than a decade. Hence Spell Bound was born. Donna retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 20 years, having been stationed in California for 14 years as an aircraft mechanic. She returned to her home state in 1994 and worked odd jobs before running Spell Bound. Joel’s prior work experience was in computer repair and technical support.
Role-playing is an ever growing pastime, and is constantly evolving in various directions. In the mid-eighties, there were numerous games developed, each of which not only added an outstanding amount of new ideas and moved away from established traditional games but each was revolutionary in its own right, and each formed an important step in transforming role-playing into what it is today.
